Key Responsibilities
- Manage case intake, file opening, and case organization
- Perform electronic filing (e-filing) in California Superior Court and Federal Court (CM/ECF)
- Coordinate and execute service of process in compliance with court rules
- Prepare Tables of Contents and Authorities (TOC/TOA) for pleadings and briefs
- Support trial preparation, including:
- Motions in limine
- Trial binders and exhibits
- Court filings and logistics
- Maintain and track litigation calendars and critical deadlines (court rules, discovery, trial-related triggers)
- Assist with expert witness coordination and deposition preparation
- Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
- Ensure attorneys remain compliant with state and federal procedural deadlines
- Proactively identify potential issues and keep cases moving forward
Top Qualifications (Must-Have Skills)
- Strong experience in litigation support (civil defense preferred)
- Proficiency in state & federal e-filing, calendaring, and trial prep
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment
Additional Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary
- Working knowledge of:
- California Rules of Court
- Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience with appellate filings (plus)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word TOC/TOA, formatting)
- Familiarity with legal software (e.g., iManage, NetDocuments, Relativity, or similar)
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and team-oriented mindset
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $70,000 - $95,000 (DOE)

Work Schedule
- Full-time position
- Hybrid schedule:
- 4 days onsite, 1 remote (first 90 days)
- Potential for 2 remote days/week after 90 days (performance-based)
